A DIRTY GIRL MEETS MR. CLEAN

Our subject matter at Man Cave for Tuesday (10-27-20) covered a lot of ground. In Session #7 from our workbook "Strong Men Great Dads" was called "A Dirty Girl Meets Mr. Clean." We read a story about a girl used sexually by a gang and the long term effects that the experience had on her life. We also discussed some common traits of homelessness.
The girl in the story was used to being abused. She accepted a way of life as normal, that made her feel dirty. She thought that all guys would use her and love was just a brief sex act. Strong men take accountability for their actions and recognize when someone's been hurt.

Proverbs 3:27
Whenever you are able,
do good to people who need help.
Bad things happen to good people, unfortunately bad things sometimes get accepted as a normal way of life. Folks addicted to drugs, alcohol, pornography, sex or gambling accept evil as their normalcy. A homeless person feels hungry and sees a take-out food container left on a park bench and eats the scraps inside. They've conditioned themselves to see discarded trash as a blessing.
The devil is an expert at making garbage appear as a blessing. He knows many folks won't go the extra mile to get out of their comfort zone. Life is hard sometimes and the struggle stops folks dead in their sin. Some guys have become allergic to rules and authority. A father is supposed to be an authority figure in a son or daughter's life. That's where we learn respect.
A guy named Paul wrote a Letter to a group of folks who lived in a city called Ephesus. It's in the Bible as the Book of Ephesians and here's a look at Chapter 6:14.

So stand firm and hold your ground,
having tightened the wide band of truth
(personal integrity, moral courage) around your waist
and having put on the breastplate of righteousness
(an upright heart),
The Truth is the knowledge of Jesus Christ that holds up your Way of Life.

John 14:6 Amplified BibleJesus said to him, “I am the [only] Way [to God] and the [real] Truth and the [real] Life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.
The "breastplate of righteousness" is our condition with God or maybe a better way to say it would be, "it's our outward evidence of our inward character that reflects our faith in God."
We all have times of feeling unworthy and depressed over feeling inadequate. Jesus is a friend of sinners. We are all worthy of being redeemed by God's love. Walk by the mediocre offerings of life and ask God to show you His best. When you seek Him with all your heart, you will hear His voice behind you saying, "This is the Way, walk in Truth and live a more excellent Life.
Thanks for our time. Go do something nice for somebody.
Jesus loves you and so do we.

YWAP empowers people in Christ to become collaborators in a community effort to create a better world for children and their families. Investing in youth is a preemptive strike against sexual abuse, drug addiction and human trafficking. Man Cave is a place of transparency and accountability. A fatherless generation is lacking the knowledge of a Father’s Love. Our goal is to help guys become Christ-centered men who respect women and accept the responsibilities of becoming a dad. We don’t hibernate in the Man Cave, we believe in Community Engagement through good neighborliness. Women Set Apart is a Women’s Bible Study focusing on hearing the heart and voice of Jesus. “And this is eternal life: [it means] to know (to perceive, recognize, become acquainted with, and understand) You, the only true and real God, and [likewise] to know Him, Jesus [as the] Christ (the Anointed One, the Messiah), Whom You have sent.” John 17:3 AMPC The YWAP Directors serve in Pastoral Leadership by ministering to Youth Ministry Teams and Prayer Teams. We teach Biblically based best practices from a 25 year background in ministry. We appreciate your prayers and support.
