You can't stop her compassionate heart with a pandemic. Mrs.Elizabeth Triggs and her volunteers at None Like You/We Care Outreach are unstoppable!
When the community is hard pressed from every side, she swoops into the neighborhood with a smile and serving hands.
After a community of people has been well fed and had their needs met, only then will Mrs. Triggs go home to rest. She only rests long enough to regain her energy to plan her next act of love in the City of Buffalo.
Prayer begins all of her events. She prays before, during and after each event. You may not see it when she's serving unceasingly, but prayer is evidenced in the way she loves people. Thanks Mrs. Triggs for your loving way. God our Father is proud of you and so are we!
If you're looking to do volunteer work in the Buffalo Area or would like to donate to
None Like You, please call Mrs. Triggs at, 716-533-9753. Her next event is a Book bag Giveaway on August 1, 2020 called "August Gift of Joy, Hope and Love." This kind woman is sponsoring a whole "Week of Giving Back!" We've posted a picture of the flyer below so you can share it. Please do share it!
Thanks for your time. Go do something nice for somebody. Jesus loves you and so do we.

The Gift of Failure - A Present to The Sunshine Rescue Mission

7/28/2020

Picture
Failure was the topic at our morning gathering of men inside the Sunshine Rescue Mission (SRM.)  It was an honor to be there in place of Pastor Daniel Williamson from Church for the Nations - Flagstaff. CFTNFlag is very active in Community Engagement which compliments the programs at SRM. Neighbors serving neighbors.
Mistakes are a common thread that connects all men, women and children. What we learn from those mistakes that helps us grow falls into the category of wisdom. Failure is your footprint of future success. God allows failure to make a greater way for strengthening your character. God's Love never quits ~ go and do likewise.
The picture above is a shirt that invites folks to make a decision to move into a relationship with Jesus. We told a story about a man who felt he was urged by God to tell another man about Christ. He decided it wasn't the best time. The man he was supposed to talk to about Christ died that night. He looks back on that time as a failure and will never repeat that failure.
Sometimes at a place like the Mission, guys will stay in the program for a short time and then quit. They develop a reputation around town as failures. They refuse to follow through and become finishers. Sooner or later they come back again. When they show up and ask for another chance, their history as failures causes us to write them off as failures without believing they can change. God desires that none should perish and so should we.
Below is the cover sheet for our lesson today. The Bible is a gift from Ken Metzger and was given to one of the men. It's great to receive presents that change lives. Thanks Ken! After that you will find some pictures of young men who were killed in gang violence. We shared their stories today to give meaning to their lives. As a Youth Director who knew all of them personally, it's hard not to feel like a failure because they died. It's not true, but it hurts just the same. It does cause me to go the extra mile to give guys all the chances they need to live new lives in Christ.
Thanks for your time. Go do something nice for somebody. Jesus loves you and so do we.

  • Failure is your footprint of future success. ~ Get wisdom. ~ Take another step.
  • Don’t quit.
  • God allows failure to make a greater way for the strengthening of our character.

  1. God’s Love never quits no matter how many times you fail.

 “The mountains and hills may crumble, but my love for you will never end;
I will keep forever my promise of peace.” So says the Lord who loves you.”
Isaiah 54:10 GNT

  1. God covers our failures with His compassion.

“This exile is just like the days of Noah for me: I promised then that the waters of Noah would never again flood the earth. I’m promising now no more anger, no more dressing you down. For even if the mountains walk away and the hills fall to pieces, My love won’t walk away from you, my covenant commitment of peace won’t fall apart.” The God who has compassion on you says so.”  Isaiah 54:9-10 MSG

  1. There is power and strength in God’s Love.

A Song of Victory
For the director of music. By the Lord’s servant, David. David sang this song to the Lord. He sang it when the Lord had saved him from Saul and all his other enemies.
“I love you, Lord. You are my strength.” Psalm 18:1 ICB

  1. Our Love for each other will turn failures into the unity of victory in God.
 I Love You, Lord
Praises sung to the Pure and Shining One, by King David, his servant, composed when the Lord rescued David from all his many enemies, including from the brutality of Saul
“ Lord, I passionately love you and I’m bonded to you for now you’ve become my power!” Psalm 18:1 TPT

They'll Know We Are Christians by Our Love Jars of Clay
We are one in the Spirit, we are one in the Lord
We are one in the Spirit, we are one in the Lord
And we pray that our unity will one day be restored
And they'll know we are Christians by our love, by our love
Yeah they'll know we are Christians by our love
We will work with each other, we will work side by side
We will work with each other, we will work side by side
And we'll guard each man's dignity and save each man's pride
And they'll know we are Christians by our love, by our love
Yeah, they'll know we are Christians by our love.

God Gives Grace To Failures.
July 28, 2020 pbob

GRACE GRACE
You tried before and miserably failed.
Another mountain peak left unscaled.
In every race you're the one who trailed.
How much can I take! You loudly wailed.
Grace, Grace is about to be unveiled.
Another convict about to be bailed!
Your ship's come in and its about to be sailed!
Your train of misery is about to be derailed!
Upon a cross God's Son was impaled,
Facing death, in prayer Jesus travailed.
Watching her son die a mother bewailed.
Innocent of all charges He still got nailed.
"Father forgive them." Said the one full of grace.
"It is finished." His last breath, finishing the race.
On the third day in his grave, death had no trace.
His heart is ready for your new birthplace.
A new beginning no remembrance of disgrace,
All your records of defeat, with love He'll erase.
Start this minute surrender your life to Grace,
His love for you is unstained and full of Grace.

There Was Space In Church - ON PURPOSE!

Picture
It was the first time in many months that folks gathered inside Church for the Nations - Flagstaff. There's no need to tell you about how the Pandemic has changed everything. This week, some new normalcy happened and it was very welcome.
For the past few months the Church has gathered in the wide open spaces of a soccer field in the shadows of the mountains. Folks would sit in their cars or in lawn chairs and sometimes even on a tree stump. The forecast was originally for rain so it appeared to be a good idea to once again move indoors.
It wasn't easy, but we wanted to make everyone comfortable. The chairs were spaced and masks were available and folks were urged to use them as they felt comfortable. Marvin and his Compassion Ministries Tean served breakfast outside the church. Children were given bags of goodies. Hand sanitizer was in ample supply.
It was a beautiful day in the church-hood! Lots of smiles, lots of prayer, beautiful worship music and a great message from Christian Weed. People need community and this church is all about going the extra mile to engage the community through service.
Only God knows at this point what will happen next week, but one thing we know for sure - this Church will find a way to honor God in community with people! Thanks for your time. Go do something nice for somebody. Jesus loves you and so do we.

The Neighborhood Hope Dealer for Women

Picture
It was a beautiful day in the Womanhood! The ladies from the Hope Chest in Flagstaff gathered for a special evening of friendship, learning, worship and prophetic prayer. Jennifer Leyland is the Founder, Director of the Hope Chest. Jennifer goes the extra mile to help women know how much God values them. The Connection Card describes the Hope Chest as: "Safe and Sober Housing for Women." That only tells a fraction of the story.
Monday night (7-20-20) was another special opportunity for the women to go to a place of greater hope in God. For the second time, Linda Kuebler was invited to teach, lead and pray in her prophetic gifting. Linda is a YWAP Director and Prayer Leader at Church for The Nations Flagstaff. She has called upon by many church leaders in several states to ask God for a word for their congregations. People from all over the US and several countries will call asking her to pray over them. Her relationship with God is highly respected.
Linda's special message for the ladies was about the "Holiness of God." The Key Bible Verse for Linda's  teaching was Psalm 27:4 (AMPC)
"One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek, inquire for, and [insistently] require: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord [in His presence] all the days of my life, to behold and gaze upon the beauty [the sweet attractiveness and the delightful loveliness] of the Lord and to meditate, consider, and inquire in His temple."
After the lesson, Linda prayed for each of the women individually. They each received a personal word from God. The ladies worshiped God and sang "Holy Spirit You Are Welcome Here."
Hope is being birthed everyday at the Hope Chest. Linda is a great Teacher of the Word of God made even more powerful by the way she prays the Word into the lives of woman.
The future of the Hope Chest is bright because the Director, Jennifer Leyland is a builder. She builds relationships as a servant the way Christ does. Her experience includes leadership roles in Teen Challenge, the Sunshine Rescue Mission and Hope Cottage. Jennifer is one of those people who believes we need to do more to share the love of Christ with folks who hurting. She's also helping to launch Celebrate Recovery at Church for The Nations Flagstaff.
Collaborations between builders and teachers like Jennifer and Linda are causing other folks to get involved. Compassion is contagious. These two ladies are leading the contagiousness of the Holy Spirit!
The Hope Chest is a nonprofit organization and always in need of donations and support. They are a residential facility providing housing and all necessary needs of the women they serve.
You can reach them at:

A SHOE-LESS Man visits The Mission & Takes A Seat!

7/21/2020

Picture
We had just started our morning session with the men at the Sunshine Rescue Mission. Our topic for the class was "Arrogance, Pride & Humility. Sometimes folks walking by stop on the sidewalk just outside the front windows to look in and listen. We always invite them in. Today a shoe-less guy took up our offer stepped inside the front door.
His shoe-less-ness only became apparent after he began walking through the room. He walked along the back row of guys and they greeted him warmly. He said he needed shoes. One of the guys told him to have a seat and listen. He would get shoes after the class.
You could call that an "act of compassion with responsibility." The shoe-less man listened intently during the rest of the class.Too often we just give physical things away without including a spiritual opportunity to know the Love of God behind the physical giving.
Our lesson examined the roots of arrogance, pride and fear. Addiction is an attempt to fill a void in our humanity. Only God's love can fill our hearts. Arrogance is a synonym for "I know it all," or "I know more than you." Pride will cause someone in a program to say "I don't need you, I've got this by myself."
Humility is the antidote for the disease of arrogance. Humility has a peripheral vision with the ability to focus on the needs of others. Humility gives credit instead of taking credit. Our Key Bible verse for the day was Mark 7:20-23.
"And Jesus said, “The things that come out of a man are the things that make him unclean. 21 All these evil things begin inside a person, in the mind: evil thoughts, sexual immorality, stealing, murder, adultery, 22 selfishness, doing bad things to other people, lying, doing sinful things, jealousy, saying bad things about people, pride, and foolish living. 23 All these evil things come from within a person. These things make a person unclean.”
Jesus was having a discussion with religious leaders about cleanliness. The religious folks were questioning why the friends of Christ were not washing their hands. They were up to their usual shenanigans of trying to trap Jesus into breaking a religious law. You can follow the law. but still be lost and not follow Love. What's your motive behind your action?
Many relationships, businesses and organizations are affected adversely by pride. We all have fissures in our character that will widen into an abyss of evil things.  Humility will see the penetrating gaze of God in examining our own personal habits. A great action word in scrutinizing our character is "motive." What is the motive in your heart for doing something? Do you do things for personal glory or to give God glory?
The shoe-less man had a motive to get some shoes. The guys at the Mission had a motive to give the man Love - God's Way. Their motive was a more excellent way that gave shoes with Love. We're proud of those guys at the Sunshine Rescue Mission! They went the extra mile to show a man Love. They went beyond normal. Their motive was rooted in humility and compassion.
Thanks for your time. Go do something nice for somebody. Jesus loves you and so do we.

Men of Clay Become The Potter's PERFECT Piece

7/14/2020

Picture
It was a special morning in a couple of different ways at the Sunshine Rescue Mission. The Leadership Lesson was about protecting our bodies through Biblical discipline.
It was a cool lesson and you can read the notes we've posted below. There were about 25 men in attendance and each one received a copy of Ken Metzgers Book - "The Potter's Perfect Piece."
Ken is an overcomer and a great example of resilience. He never gives up in spite of numerous adversities that have come his way. Many guys want to quit when life gets hard, Ken's story is an inspiration for everyone.
Today's lesson was entitled :Satan Wants Your Body." Here is the outline for the teaching. Please drop us an email with any questions or comments.
Thanks for your time. Go do something nice for somebody.
Jesus loves you and so do we.
#ywap4Christ #JLYASDW

SATAN WANTS YOUR BODY

Your body is a:
  1. Temple
  2. Tool
  3. Treasure
  4. Testing Ground

Temple
  • What you allow to enter your temple will make up your temple.
“Do you not know that your body is the temple (the very sanctuary) of the Holy Spirit Who lives within you, Whom you have received [as a Gift] from God? You are not your own, You were bought with a price [purchased with a preciousness and paid for, made His own]. So then, honor God and bring glory to Him in your body.”
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 AMPC

Tool
  • Your body is a tool to create good works and enlarge God’s territory.
“Sin is a dethroned monarch; so you must no longer give it an opportunity to rule over your life, controlling how you live and compelling you to obey its desires and cravings. So then, refuse to answer its call to surrender your body as a tool for wickedness. Instead, passionately answer God’s call to keep yielding your body to him as one who has now experienced resurrection life! You live now for his pleasure, ready to be used for his noble purpose. Remember this: sin will not conquer you, for God already has! You are not governed by law but governed by the reign of the grace of God.”
Romans 6:12-14 TPT

Treasure
  • The grace and love of Christ is a treasure given to you by the father to invest in others so they may have treasure as well.
“We have this treasure from God. But we are only like clay jars that hold the treasure. This shows that this great power is from God, not from us. We have troubles all around us, but we are not defeated. We do not know what to do, but we do not give up.”
2 Corinthians 4:7-8 ICB
Testing Ground
  • God will test your devotion before he gives you a promotion. Satan likes to test your patience.
“Blessed (happy, to be envied) is the man who is patient under trial and stands up under temptation, for when he has stood the test and been approved, he will receive [the victor's] crown of life which God has promised to those who love Him.”
James 1:12 AMPC

“You know that in a race all the runners run. But only one gets the prize. So run like that. Run to win! All those who compete in the games use strict training. They do this so that they can win a crown. That crown is an earthly thing that lasts only a short time. But our crown will continue forever. So I do not run without a goal. I fight like a boxer who is hitting something—not just the air. It is my own body that I hit. I make it my slave. I do this so that I myself will not be rejected after I have preached to others.”
1 Corinthians 9:24-27 ICB

“Therefore I always exercise and discipline myself [mortifying my body, deadening my carnal affections, bodily appetites, and worldly desires, endeavoring in all respects] to have a clear (unshaken, blameless) conscience, void of offense toward God and toward men.”
Acts 24:16 AMPC

“O Timothy, guard and keep the deposit entrusted [to you]! Turn away from the irreverent babble and godless chatter, with the vain and empty and worldly phrases, and the subtleties and the contradictions in what is falsely called knowledge and spiritual illumination.”
1 Timothy 6:20 AMPC

“These spiritual investments will provide a beautiful foundation for their lives and secure for them a great future, as they lay their hands upon the meaning of true life. So, my son Timothy, don’t forget all that has been deposited within you. Escape from the empty echoes of men and the perversion of twisted reasoning. For those who claim to possess this so-called knowledge have already wandered from the true faith. May God’s grace empower you always! Love in Christ, Paul”
1 Timothy 6:19-21 TPT

Standing On A Corner In Winslow, Arizona - Three Feet From DETOX

7/6/2020

Picture
For about eight hours many folks were praying for a man to leave the booze alone. He came to a church service and asked for prayer. He had slept in the nearby bushes the night before. The odor of alcohol was stronger than the smell of dead fish from the pond beyond the bushes. He was still drunk.
He was a long time alcoholic who took up drinking to help him get over his meth addiction. For a person to enter DETOX, they have to be at the end of themselves. He seemed ready to step out of the sewer he was living in. DETOX is where you go to dry out and get ready for some long term help in beating your addiction.
We told him if he didn't drink for eight hours, we would take hi to a place to get help. Most facilities will not let you come in unless you pass a breathalyzer test. The only option is a DETOX center and the closest one was about 60 miles away. He called me eight hours later and we picked him up at a local Shelter. He didn't make it eight hours without a drink. Our options of where to take him were limited.
We drove the 60 miles to Winslow, Arizona.  We talked and prayed along the way. As we got close, he asked if we could get him some food. He finished his sandwiches in the parking lot of the DETOX Center. When we got to the door, a staff member took his temperature as a precaution against COVID-19. He was good to go, but he would have to wait until they admitted the guy ahead of him.
Just like a firecracker exploding, the previously docile man suddenly got very angry. He exploded in accusations and then stalked off into the night. He had been there the month before and never finished the program. It turns out that he's burned many bridges with community agencies trying to help him.
We left him on a corner in Winslow, Arizona. We were a little angry after having spent a few hours driving and feeding this man. We though we could help him. We think he was at least a little bit serious about getting his life in order. Sadly he headed down the darkened streets into an even darker future.
Addiction cycles through many generations of families. The destruction of relationships is evil. This man talked a lot about demonic spirits that tempted him. We'll keep on praying for him and other families broken by addiction. Surrendering to Christ leads to the greatest victory known to humankind.
Never give up. Keep praying. Never give up.
