We shared some history from "The Edge of Redemption" by Troy A. Evans. He's a former gangster from Detroit who became a Pastor. His book details the "conquer and divide" philosophy that slave owners used that continues to plague the African-American culture today. Women were separated from their men.* (See below.)
A glimpse into the lives of folks on death row and how they got there was a chilling reminder of people we rarely think about. Grace is a weapon against anger. Grace grows through humility. Forgiveness forges the way to a more peaceful future. (Christmas And Folks On Death Row.) (I've Been A Denier.)
People who are hungry, thirsty, homeless, sick or in prison need someone to support and love them. Jesus used those people as an example to show us His desires for our lives. Alcohol, drugs, sexual abuse and violence can cause folks to become homeless. Whatever you have been through does not define you. The dirt that was placed on your heart is no longer your dirt. It happened to the person who you used to be. YOU'VE GOT GRACE!
God desires that men would become fathers who are the spiritual leaders of their families. Men or women were not designed to be independent procreators of human life. A man is not desigend to be a non-participant in the life of their children. Unity is God's plan.
"For I was hungry, and you fed me.
I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink.
I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home.
I was naked, and you gave me clothing.
I was sick, and you cared for me.
I was in prison, and you visited me."
Matthew 25:35-36
