LATASHIA MARTIN GIVES YOUNG MEN BACKWARD ADVICE AT BWAP XLIX

4/29/2016

Backward is sometimes the direction God uses to take us forward in life. LaTashia Martin came to BWAP XLIX and opened the eyes of inner-city young men with a 9 Minute Life Direction speech about God, money and success.
When LaTashia gave her testimony of leaving big money to follow an even bigger God, the young men fell silent. You could tell by their eyes that she had their full attention. She left a high paying job and stashed a small financial cushion to hold her through what she thought might be some lean times. And then God had her get rid of her cushion.
Abundance in the spiritual world is accumulated through poverty. That's a spiritual principle that will break the spirit of poverty in the physical world. LaTashia did a beautiful job of giving God credit for all of the successes in her life. She didn't speak it, but her obedience and willingness to follow God is a mark of wisdom and humility.
Poverty is a mindset that can be broken when people feed themselves on God's life principles. A

Boat stories are always good for floating lessons past a youthful audience. Pastor Jaison Randall from City Reach Buffalo gave the young men at BWAP XLVII a lot to think about.
When the young men sat down to listen to Pastor Jaison give his 9 Minute Life Direction, they found chocolate kisses on the tables. They were gone faster than you can say BWAP! The chocolate helped the young men understand a little more about life as they build theIr own LIFETICKET.
A lot of courage is needed to step out of the boat your in. Pastor Jaison exhorted the young men to be strong and courageous in stepping out into their full potential in Christ.
Praying for every member of the BWAP audience, Pastor Jaison gave a personal touch mirroring our personal God. Thank you Pastor Jaison for a powerful example of stepping out in love. Jesus loves you and so do we.

PASTOR CRAIG AT BWAP XLVI - FORGIVING WHEN SALT IS STILL IN YOUR WOUND

4/8/2016

Buoyancy is something you feel when guilt is lifted from your shoulders. Pastor Craig McLeod from Life Church told a powerful and deeply personal story about guilt and forgiveness. He was this week's Nine Minute Speaker at BWAP XLVI. He left a huge impact on the inner-city young men.
When we make bad decisions in life, there are consequences. As young boy, Pastor Craig made a bad decision that did not reflect his personal decision to follow Christ - his behavior did not reflect his belief system. After the point of guilt, Pastor Craig found the courage of Christ as he went and apologized to a woman whom he had offended.
A person's guilt can be washed away by tears. After Pastor Craig apologized, the lady who was the victim of his bad decision, smiled as she looked into his eyes and said these words: "I forgave you when you did it." In other words, the victim forgave as she was being victimized. That moment was like Jesus on the Cross when He said: "Father forgive them, they don't know what they are doing"
People experience freedom when they are forgiven. As Pastor Craig spoke, I heard a young man in the back of the room quietly say these words: "I wish my Mom would forgive me." I wonder how many young people in the world need to see forgiveness in action. Will you please help somebody learn about forgiveness today?
Thank you Pastor Craig for intimately sharing your heart and your willingness to be vulnerable with the young men at BWAP. I know you made a powerful impact that will have a carry-over effect that's everlasting. Jesus loves you and so do we.

Buffalo hasn't been the same since the McLeod Family came to town. Life has changed in many ways for the folks who have benefited from their friendship.
When Pastor Craig steps in front of the BWAP guys on Thursday night, he will have his first opportunity to speak for nine minutes. The inner-city young men are 18-30 yrs, old and each week they listen to a BWAP 9MD Speaker.
Anytime you can get young men listening to nine minutes of Holy Spirit inspired wisdom, well let's just say that could be the most important time of their lives!
Pastor Craig is a man with a big heart and he shares it with a passion. His vision allows him to see the potential greatness in people. That's why he's perfect to be a nine minute speaker at BWAP.

Thanks for your time. Go and do something nice for somebody.

Tommy McClam & BWAP XLV - EAGLES SOAR WHILE CHICKENS PULL UP THEIR PANTS!

4/4/2016

Buffalo has a few less chickens this week thanks to Tommy McClam. His 9 Minute Devotion at BWAP XLV was inspiring and life changing. "God knew you before you were formed in your mother's womb. He knows how great He created you to be."
When a boy found an egg in a barnyard, he thought it was a chicken egg so he put the egg with the chicken eggs. After the eggs hatched there were some chickens and an eagle. The chickens told the eagle that he was a chicken, so he acted like a chicken. An eagle flew overhead and then landed. He asked the young eagle why he wasn't flying. He said "I'm a chicken and chickens don't fly!"
After a few more questions the young eagle spread his wings and he hopped ten steps. He explained to the older eagle that this was how chickens got around. Strangely enough, the ten step chicken hop resembled guys walking ten steps, pulling up their sagging pants, walking ten more steps and pulling up their pants again. The old eagle eventually convinced the youngster to try and fly. He did fly.
Powerful wind currents lifted the young eagle higher and higher. He asked the old eagle why they had to fly so high. "We have to fly over the mountains of adversity, past the deserts of despair and through the valleys of mediocrity. You were made to soar!" You are an eagle who was made for greatness!
Thanks Tommy McClam for a great message. Young men in Buffalo are reaching for greatness because of your efforts. Jesus loves you and so do we. #JLYASDW.
