Bring us your dreams and goals is what Buffalo Councilman Rasheed Wyatt seemed to say last night at BWAP XX!!. Young men have to get in the habit of asking if they want some information about how to make something happen. Rasheed talked about college, jobs and starting businesses. He told the young men that he would help them - all they have to do is ask. At YWAP, we have personally witnessed the truth of his spoken word - RASHEED DOES WHAT HE SAYS HE WILL DO! He's a man of action.
Wisdom - that's what Rasheed delivered in mass quantities. He gave the young men advice about the law and how to respond to Police. He provided ways to succeed in almost every area of their lives. Rasheed demonstrated that he really cared about their welfare.
Ask and you shall receive is a Bible verse that could describe our 9 minutes with Rasheed. Yes, he did go just a little over our 9-minute mark, but he never stopped delivering positive and worthwhile messages.
Perseverance and passion are common traits with Rasheed and his Staff at City Hall. When I told Rasheed what a great staff he had, Rasheed smiled and spent a few minutes talking about how great they were. The biggest point he made that impressed me the most was his accountability to them. Rasheed invites them to hold him accountable. That's the mark of a true leader.
