When the YWAP Director was contacted by Beth Thurn Atwood about having her Friends sponsor a BWAP Dinner, that was special in itself. It's not often that some folks from outside the city come in and actually extend their hearts by serving with their hands. The seeds sown by the Friends caused a much larger event to happen. It was kind of like a mustard seed story - something big grows from a small gesture of kindness. Beth and her husband Bob were joined by Scott Schiemant, Michelle Schiemant, Teri Thompson Bebak, David Schutrum, Izzy Atwood, Tracey Taylor and Bob Grimm as the Crew of Friends who came rejoicing and sowing seeds of kindness. Thank you Friends for bringing in the sheaves. (We've reprinted the lyrics below and we sing it in honor of you.
Although we've grown accustomed to every week at BWAP being unique, Pastor Charles McCarley went over the top. He brought energy and a message with audience participation. He invited some BWAP guys up to be part of a demonstration about how who or what you are linked to can help you or hurt you. The guys linked arms, back-to-back in a circle as they sat on the floor. They then had to stand up which could only be done as team. The guys laughed and struggled as they gained a new found wisdom. Small things in life can lift you up or cast you down. Thanks Pastor Charles, you lifted us up with humor, opened our spirits and poured forth God's wisdom.
Putting God first seemed to be the theme for the night. The YWAP folks took turns telling the crowd about the current events and future plans of our BWAP Program. Several young men did an excellent job talking about how BWAP is now changing lives in the Buffalo Schools. Great things are happening at BWAP! To all the folks who made the first ever BWAP Thanksgiving special - THANK YOU.
JESUS LOVES YOU AND SO DO WE!

We need folks who want to help young men reach their purpose in life.
Have you reached your purpose in life?
Maybe you are called to mentor and coach young people.
It only takes $5 a week to sponsor a guy at BWAP. What does $5 get? Two hours of exercise, a home-style dinner and a 9 Minute Life-Direction Speech from a guest Speaker. Thursday night at BWAP is only one night that opens the door to a relationship for life. Some guys are even provided with transportation to and from the gym. You can give any amount.
Thank you to everybody who has prayed, volunteered, and donated to youth With A Purpose.

"Bringing in the Sheaves
Sowing in the morning, sowing seeds of kindness,
Sowing in the noontide and the dewy eve;
Waiting for the harvest, and the time of reaping,
We shall come rejoicing, bringing in the sheaves.
Refrain:
Bringing in the sheaves, bringing in the sheaves,
We shall come rejoicing, bringing in the sheaves;
Bringing in the sheaves, bringing in the sheaves,
We shall come rejoicing, bringing in the sheaves.
Sowing in the sunshine, sowing in the shadows,
Fearing neither clouds nor winter’s chilling breeze;
By and by the harvest, and the labor ended,
We shall come rejoicing, bringing in the sheaves.
Going forth with weeping, sowing for the Master,
Though the loss sustained our spirit often grieves;
When our weeping’s over, He will bid us welcome,
We shall come rejoicing, bringing in the sheaves.
