Buffalo has a unique, on-of-a-kind new program called BWAP sponsored by Youth With A Purpose Inc. BWAP is Basketball With A Purpose. We play ball, experience some Life direction and eat some good food. We invite speakers to deliver a 9 Minute Direction about life.
When we want to teach young people a valuable life lesson, we can't wait for the perfect moment. Life messages aren't meant to be boxed up in a concrete building with an 8 hour time clock. Every experience in life is a teachable moment. At BWAP we use Power Moment Mentoring - we mentor in the power of the emotional moment. Education is 24/7.
Accepting the challenge of forming relationships with "hard-to-reach" young people is part of what we do at BWAP. Once a young person begins to fall behind the expectations of society, rebellion becomes the acceptable norm. All people want healthy relationships and yearn to be accepted. Most of the time they just need to be given a chance (or 2 or 3 chances!)
Positive people who speak positive words can bring about positive change in another persons life. Are you ready to put a positive spin on the heart of rejection?
