Do you know someone who is:
Feed them encouragement.
Give them a sip of esteem.
Let them stay in your heart.
Cover them with kindness.
Tarry awhile with your presence.
Give them the freedom of your time.
It's easy to sit, stand, and kneel in a church.
What do you do for the most
will define your character.
Matthew 25:44-46 The Message
44 “Then those ‘goats’ are going to say, ‘Master, what are you talking about? When did we ever see you hungry or thirsty or homeless or shivering or sick or in prison and didn’t help?’
45 “He will answer them, ‘I’m telling the solemn truth: Whenever you failed to do one of these things to someone who was being overlooked or ignored, that was me—you failed to do it to me.’
46 “Then those ‘goats’ will be herded to their eternal doom, but the ‘sheep’ to their eternal reward.”

"You will be in jail until you figure out what God wants you to learn from your circumstances." That's what I told one young man who was among the accused. I also told him that we would be spinning our mental wheels by moaning about unfairness in the world. Let's focus on God's will. The greatest shapers of our world are those who have experienced the harshest adversity.
The YWAP Block Club Basketball Team kept up their winning streak tonight. More importantly, they heard a timely message at halftime about speaking the truth to their friends and family. Too many people are staying silent and letting friends stray into risky, life threatening behavior. IT'S TIME TO SPEAK UP! After the game, we were treated to some delicious hotdogs cooked by the YWAP crew and supplied by Urban Christian Ministries. Thanks UCM for all you do. Jesus
Over 250 young people from all over New York descended like locusts on the West Side of Buffalo. They picked up paint brushes, swung hammers and cut a path into the hearts of neighbors with their acts of service. They have been here all week and transformed a whole neighborhood! We get to do it again tomorrow! https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.648500825177596.1073741859.111808805513470&

Many churches are involved including Hamburg Wesleyan, Northgate, The Tab, Victory Christian Center, New Covenant, Grace House and more. The event is fondly referred to as "Breakout/LoveBuffalo."

WHAT IS THE VALUE OF A YOUNG PERSON'S LIFE?
As a Youth Director, one of the last places you would like to be is in Federal Court. There were approximately 15 young people led into court shackled in handcuffs with a chain wrapped around their back. Most were connected on conspiracy charges allegedly committed over a 12 year period. Some of these young people are only 22 years old. That means that they started their alleged life of crime when they were approximately 10 yrs old. The Prosecutor noted that in a similar case, an 8 yr old was selling drugs.
I know that the job of a Prosecutor is to uphold the law and convict people. I feel bad that the rest of us have not done a good enough job of providing opportunities for these young people to lead law abiding lives. The courthouse we sat in supposedly cost over 164 million dollars. Do you know how many youth programs we could operate with a fraction of that?
What is the value of a young person's life?
The YWAP day will begin in Federal Court this morning.
A young man has been held by Federal officials for over a year.
I know him as a very compassionate human being.
