The scene resembled an old cowboy movie. Another historic occasion was created at the Historic Hitching Post Stables where many generations of families loved on each other through their love for horses. This moment in time though, was beyond anything that had ever happened before. A young boy asked to be baptized in a horse trough.
His Uncle is Pastor Daniel Williamson from Church For The Nations Flagstaff. Back in the day, Pastor Daniel was the Founder of a Home for Boys who needed some extra life guidance. He knew the power of building relationships with horses that helped young guys feel valued and loved. Someday the horse ministry for boys will begin again. On this day, one young boy surrounded by family and horses, made his own personal decision to be baptized in the name of Christ.
Fatherlessness is a generational plague worse than all of history's pandemics combined. A boy with a "Judas-like" experience in his youth is more likely to live a "Judas-like" life as an adult man. Judas was a thief and a traitor who sold-out Jesus for money. A man who walks out on his family is an imposter as a father and a deserter as a parent. Boys without Dads are more likely to join gangs, deal drugs, become violent, end up in prison and disrespect women.
The Historic Hitching Post Stables has a long family history where family legacies have been created. It's still operating although it's in a graceful state of decline. The property has potential for a boys home, but needs a lot of work and money to make it suitable. It is conceivable that the beautiful legacy that's begun here could continue in greater ways. I'll stop here and ask you to pray for the Horse Ministry for Boys to become a reality whether it's on this property or somewhere else.
The day of this boys baptism in a horse trough was as spectacular on earth as it was in heaven. He made the choice to surrender his will to his Father in heaven with the wholehearted approval of his father and mother on earth. Wild horses remain wild until they learn how to trust those who train them. Fatherless boys grow up without an authority they can trust. It's time for us to do more to give boys a fighting chance to stay alive and out of jail. It's time for us to do more for women by raising boys who will respect them.
