WILL YOU FAST and PRAY WITH YWAP?

   YWAP is in the gap between where we are and where God wants us to go.
Will you be a YWAP Gap-Stander and pray earnestly for 21 days?
As we move into a greater territory to reach more young people, we need your help.
Please pray for YWAP during the first three weeks of 2018.
   The YWAP Directors are inviting everyone to join them in a 21 Day Fast beginning January 1, 2018.
   We'll begin a New Year by fasting and praying as we seek God's plan for the future of YWAP.

Specific Items To Pray For

Pray that the Directors would seek God's direction and guidance in the least of decisions and in the greatest of decisions.

Pray for the young people at YWAP that their knowledge of who Christ is would multiply enormously.
Pray for the volunteers who give their time to serve the young people. Ask God to keep their hearts surrendered to Him. Ask God to help them be role models who demonstrate the life of Christ.
Pray for the finances to cover the cost of doing ministry. We pay rent, buy food, pay for the costs of a van give guys rides, staff stipends, teaching materials and equipment, insurance, prison visits and phone calls.
Pray for YWAP Board Members - that they would seek God above all else and govern diligently and by Biblical principles.
Pray for Corporate Partners with the compassion to believe in greatness for inner-city young people.
Pray for new YWAP Directors to help enlarge God's territory through YWAP.

ThanksGiving-Back All Over Buffalo, Days 5 & 6

You will have plenty to eat, until you are full, and you will praise the name of the LORD your God,
      who has worked wonders for you; never again will my people be shamed. - Joel 2:26
   After six straight days of ThanksGiving-Back Community Dinners, the turkey crew will take two days off.
Preparation is one of the keys to success. Turkeys don't cook themselves!
On Thursday night, 40 dinners were delivered to a young men's mentoring program at BWAP - Brothers With A Purpose. We help guys affected by gang violence, drugs and poverty become Christ-centered role models who mentor the next generation. Thank you Mrs. Triggs and all the folks who volunteer to make ThanksGiving-Back happen.
   It's easy to see a meal and think that some hard work happened in the kitchen. That's true, but it's only a small fraction of what it takes to serve over 3,000 free community dinners. Planning, shopping, pre-cooking, record-keeping, phone calls, vehicle maintenance (especially gas purchases) and electricity for freezers and refrigeration. The pictures here show some of the prep work involved at ThanksGiving-Back Days 5 & 6. We visited the good folks at the Dnipro Ukrainian Cultural Center and the Monsignor Geary Homes. So far this week, we've served 2,688 dinners. We still have purchases to make and would appreciate your support. Thank you. .

YWAP Director Speaks to Bryant & Stratton College Student Government

Young people and older folks are gaining a valuable education at Bryant & Stratton College.
World impact is an expectation deeply ingrained in the hearts of the Student Government Leaders.
After the YWAP Director gave a brief overview YWAP, he was invited back for the Creativity Conference.
Passionate learners and compassionate doers would be a good way to describe the students at Bryant & Stratton College.
The YWAP Directors would like to thank YWAP Volunteer and Bryant & Stratton Student Wanda Torres for making this opportunity possible. We look forward to going back to the College for Dr. Welch & Dr. Campbell's Annual Creativity Conference on December 8, 2017.

WHY ARE BUFFALO COPS IN THE KITCHEN? ThanksGiving-Back 2017 Days 3 & 4

   Young people notice what Cops do. Well actually, all of us always have an eye out for the Police.
When you come to a ThanksGiving-Back Community Dinner, you will see Cops in the kitchen.
   Always smiling. Always working. Always asking "What more can I do?"
   Plenty of volunteers came from all over the Buffalo Area to serve the community.
Students from several area colleges. members of the DA's Office, Buffalo Police and other good neighbors smiled as they cut bread, served dinners, cut hair, took out the garbage, delivered take-out turkey and even danced with the crowd. Jesus was painted on the wall and on the bracelets as well as in the hearts of lot of smiling folks!

ThanksGiving-Back Day Two 2017 Holling Homes

Young people helped Police load their cruisers with Thanksgiving Dinners at Holling Homes in Buffalo today.
   When the day was done, over 300 turkey plates full of food and love were served to folks in the community.
   As you can imagine, the smiles were immeasurable as folks gobbled up the great food.

THANKSGIVING-BACK DAY ONE 2017 AT SENECA COMMUNITY CHURCH

     Young people in Police cars is not always a bad thing. The Annual None Like You/We Care Community Thanksgiving Celebration began on Sunday, November 5, 2017. Buffalo Police helped in many ways.
     When the night was over, almost 300 dinners were served by Mrs. Triggs and volunteers. The folks at Seneca Community Church always have their hearts open year round.
     A couple of Buffalo Police Officers worked and smiled while serving everyone around them. From start to finish, the Coppers helped this community experience a greater level of neighborly love.
     Passing out Jesus Wristlets, fetching and storing turkeys along with transporting the dinner accoutrements were accomplished with the help of YWAP.
Celebrating Thanksgiving by Giving-Back to the community is a celebration of good neighborliness! Call us if you would like to get involved as a "ThanksGiving-Backer." 716-830-8240

THE YWAP JAIL CELL PHONE BIBLE STUDY

Young people who fall short of God's plan for their lives sometimes end up in jail.
We don't give up on guys and try to stay in contact by letting them know how much God loves them.
A good way to have some impact is holding a long distance Bible Study on the Jail Cell Phone.
   Plenty of young men find time alone with God in a prison to be place of new-birth.
   Last week (10-28-17) our Study was about a courageous lady named Abigail who was married to a fool (Nabal.) She was used by God to stop a King from making a bad mistake of revenge through anger. The Story can be found in 1 Samuel 25.
Lessons Learned:
1. Trust God
2. Don't React in Anger - Take a Breath and pray.
3. Jesus Can Be Found in any story in the Bible.
   a. Abigail took her Husband's guilt on her shoulders.
   b. Abigail came humbly on a donkey.
      c. Abigail came seeking forgiveness from the King.
   d. Abigail spoke prophetically and submitted to God's plan for her life.
   This week's Bible Study (11-4-17) was from John 3:1-21.
Lessons Learned:
1. Religion cannot save you. Nicodemus was a good religious leader.
2. Some things are better off done in private.
3. Being "Born Again" is surrendering your flesh and being immersed into the death and resurrection of Jesus.
4. Some knowledge is worldly and born of our own thoughts. Some knowledge is heavenly and given to us by the Holy Spirit.
5. The Bible is full of prophecies or foretelling's of who Jesus was, how he would come and how he would die.
   a. The Son of Man must be lifted up. Jesus was lifted up on a cross.
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have eternal life." John 3:16

A young man enjoys his "Place Setting" for dinner at BWAP- Brothers With A Purpose. In front of him is a copy of "Felon Attorney" written by Thearthur Duncan. He was our Nine Minute Life Direction Speaker. He spoke about how God "set-his-place" in life. Can you help young men "set their place?"

Young people have a "Place-Setting" in life. It's the place where opportunity is set before them by God.
Would you please consider becoming a "Place-Setting Missionary?"
After the young men play basketball, they listen to a Nine Minute Life-Direction Speaker and then share a meal.
Places of blessing can be at the dinner table. That's where a Place-Setting Missionary would come in. The dinner table is a place of fellowship and broken bread and sometimes broken people. A dinner "Place-Setting" can be a place of healing and learning.
You don't even have to be there unless you would like to set the place of blessing yourself. All we're asking you to consider is sponsoring our un-reusable paper plates, napkins, bowls, utensils, cups, table cloths and maybe even some devotionals.
If you need a title, we will find you one, here are some titles we've thought of:
Pastor of Paper Plates, Napkin Evangelist, Prayer of Bowls, Utensil Revivalist, Clergy of Cups, Teacher of Table Cloths, Pastor of Place Setting. We're kidding of course, but we would be happy to have you as a YWAP Staff Volunteer.
The bottom line is, we need your help to provide meaningful Place-Settings for a Life-Changing program at YWAP.
