THANKSGIVING & FORGIVING MAKE GREAT DINNER COMPANIONS!

Young folks are watching Thanksgiving behaviors.
Waiting their turn to act like the adults.
Another holiday presents an opportunity to give thanks to God for all things.
Please know how much Jesus loves you and so do we!
You are all invited to celebrate Thanksgiving with Mrs. Triggs from None Like You and the YWAP Family. Last year we served dinner to over 2,200 folks. This year the number will be higher. The dinners are free to the community, but we due bear the burden of cost for serving so many people. If you would like to volunteer to serve, donate dinner supplies or money, that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

YWAP GOES TO DETROIT - THE CHRISTIAN

Young people from YWAP led by Rev. Will Coplin travelled to Detroit with several mentors. They were going to learn how to be more involved in community transformation by carrying out God's Word.
   While they were in Detroit, they visited other communities and learn about rebuilding neighborhoods. The Christian Community Development Association's Conference continues to teach and apply God's love.
   A new generation of young people are seeking to be engaged in community redevelopment through neighborliness. Freely sharing God's love and compassion through the work of their hearts, change is on the horizon.
   Plenty of speakers brought forth great messages filled with wisdom and practical application. The young men from YWAP are training for a mission trip where they'll wash feet and serve the community. You can read more at:

A YWAP BANQUET of TESTIMONY - YOUNG MEN GIVE GOD & THEIR MENTORS CREDIT

Young men paused and took a breath in between tears as they shared their life stories.
   With almost every word, they gave God credit for redeeming their lives from painful ordeals.
   As folks listened, they were moved to tears by powerful testimonies of perseverance and courage.
   Potential was on display through young people mentored by men and women putting God's love in action.
The audience was a mix of youth ministry collaborators from all over Buffalo. Unity is a powerful tool in building mentoring relationships. When young people share stories of losing their Moms to violence, it paints a pretty desperate picture. Thankfully, God sent men and women to teach and love them. Their love helped them embrace the struggles of life.
This was the YWAP Banquet of Testimony with a purpose of providing evidence of God's love and the opportunity to invest in these young men. They will be going on a Missions Trip to wash feet, give away new Nike Shoes, serve the community and speak to children in schools. Their lives have been changed by immeasurably and they want to share that life-changing love.

COMMUNITY SERVICE That Raises Funds So We Can Do More COMMUNITY SERVICE!

You wouldn't believe this was actually a fundraiser! It was more like Community Service with an investment opportunity! The purpose of raising money was to support the seven Thanksgiving Community Dinners in November.
   Wonderful volunteers from a wide ranging group of organizations pitched in to make this Chiavetta's Community Service Fundraiser a success! The Buffalo Police served and served and served some more! The Buffalo Fire Department bought dinners and made sure the cooking fire was safely put out.
A lot of folks came to get their hair cut by the professionals at Sharp Edgez Barber Institute. High school students, community volunteers and others came together with a ton of helping hands and smiles
   Planning as usual is always done by the Mother Theresa of Buffalo - Mrs. Elizabeth Triggs. She's the Director of None Like You/We Care Community Organization. Mrs. Triggs is always tirelessly working to make sure that nobody is left behind in the community. Youth With A Purpose is honored to be able to work with Mrs. Triggs and the rest of this fine crew of Community Heroes.
   We'd like to say a special thank you to the folks from www.oscinc.com. They gave us their parking lot and helped in so many ways. You folks made this event possible, THANK YOU!

Alpha & Omega First Saturday Worship at The Slavonic Christian Church

   You would be amazed at what happens during First Saturday Worship. It is a night where God gets the glory, but the talents of folks are displayed in many ways.
   When talented musicians take center stage, you might be tempted to think that the whole night might be about worship through music. There was a lot of music and song, but there was also a lot of spoken word and prayer.
   A few folks came and read the chapter of a book. Susan read the first chapter of The Blessed Life by Robert Morris. Pam read a beautiful story about redemption and salvation from her own writings.
   Prayer is something we take seriously. We wrote down all of the prayer requests of the folks present and we will continue to lift those requests to God.
   The next gig for the Alpha & Omega International Band is the Youth With A Purpose Banquet. Everyone is invited to hear the testimonies of four young men about how God changed their lives. They will ask for your help in supporting their efforts to wash feet, give away new Nike shoes and spread the Gospel in schools during a mission trip. Dinner is free with a goodwill offering to be taken after their testimony. You can find all the details here:

ANOTHER YOUNG MAN DIES TOO YOUNG

Young people are generally expected to outlive their parents. Too many young people die too soon.
When a young man becomes a murder victim, there are many questions left lingering among their tears.
Answers are hard to come by, but they do exist. They may not stop tears, but they can stop more killing.
Plenty of folks realize that the battle is not against flesh and blood. We live in a physical world where people tend to give value to what they think will fill the longing in their souls.

Do you value life before it's born? Do you value life when it's old & care-worn? Do you value life in your heart before it's torn?
Credit is something I used to take for myself. Now I find my value in Christ.
Your sorrows are not wasted, God says grace over them.

Attending funerals is not something that we take lightly, they are opportunities to spread the love of Christ in whatever way the Holy Spirit directs us.
