When Award Winner Lorenzo Alexander from the Buffalo Bills was giving his acceptance speech, the YWAP Director had a missed call from a young man in jail. He had attended last year's breakfast, but this year he found himself locked up.
After the event was over, Lorenzo took the time to write the young man in prison a note of hope as he autographed his picture. He told him he would be there for him if he ever needed to talk. That's why Lorenzo is this year's award winner. One of the first things he said was; "I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for Jesus."
Plenty of thanks could be passed around to many folks who made this event possible. The Reich Family, Frank, Linda and their daughter Lia provided the youngsters with an example of what a family who follows hard after God looks like. Lia did a phenomenal job as Emcee as she bridged the gap between ages. Frank used a verse from Haggai 1:5 "Consider your ways" to urge the audience to spend the last three weeks of Lent in reading the Bible.
Football, family and faith, what a great way to have breakfast with friends! If you would like to get involved in YWAP as a Board Member, Volunteer or supporter, please call us, 716-830-8240.
Thanks for your time. Go do something nice for somebody.
Jesus loves you and so do we. #JLYASDW
