YWAP 9 Minute Hall of Fame Speaker Craig Hannah Is Named Chief Judge

     YWAP has a Hall of Fame for 9 Minute Speakers. Three of those Hall of Famers were in attendance as Craig Hannah was sworn in as the new Chief Judge in Buffalo City Court. Attorney John Elmore and Buffalo Comptroller Barbara Miller-Williams were the other hall of Famers on hand to honor Judge Hannah.
     When Judge Hannah began to give credit to those who helped him reach this pinnacle of responsibility, he gave God the first nod. His wife, daughter and mother are members of a praying family who kept him compassionate.
     A lot of folks had nice things to say to the Judge as well as some timely advice.
     Perhaps the best advice came from outgoing Judge Amodeo. Here's a few tidbits that will benefit Judge Hannah and the rest of us. 

1. Be on time.
2. Never leave home without compassion and common sense.
3. Never make quick decisions. Wait 24-48 hours before making a decision.
4.  A team effort is the best support.

Here are some words used to describe Judge Hannah and give him some advice from those who spoke.

• Kind, generous, firm 
• Willingness to listen
• Teachable
• Responsible for the common man and the common woman
• Character, humility and compassion
•  "Some people deserve another chance. Some people deserve jail."
