Young people love bikes. Some inner-city ministries love to collaborate and they love young people. The result is kids learning bike repair and receiving their own bikes!
When Mrs. Triggs from None Like You hears of an opportunity to help anyone in the community, she becomes a lady of action.
A valuable relationship building tool, bike repair attracts many children. The East Side Bike Repair was founded by Rebecca Riley with help from many volunteers.
Providing community members with bikes they can build, fix and maintain themselves, is the goal of Rebecca Riley. Once they have completed their bike project, they may keep their bike. The process is an exciting way to teach children valuable life skills while involving them in the community.
YWAP, None Like You and the East Side Bike Repair are happy to collaborate and put smiles on children's faces. It's also a great way to prevent young people from engaging in at-risk behavior by giving them an alternative activity.
Thank you Mrs. Triggs, Rebecca Riley and all of the volunteers. You created a "Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood!" Jesus loves you and so do we.
