The skies opened up again today on Buffalo's West Side. The rain disappeared and love reigned down on neighbors near and far. The work projects on this side of town were finished and tomorrow we move over to the area around 15th Street. Each homeowner received 3 books and some prayer from a great group of young people. The 3 books were, The Bible, A One Minute Bible Devotional (compliments of The Chapel & Leroy Wiggins) and the 3rd book was The Potters Perfect Piece by Ken Metzger. http://www.amazon.com/Potters-Perfect-Piece-Kenneth-Metzger/dp/1579218768 Ken's book took on extra special meaning at our worksite with the youth group from Houghton. Ken is a cancer survivor and we presented his book (and hope) to another cancer survivor who owned the house we worked on. After we finished his house, we moved down the street to paint an 88 yr. old lady's house. She was moved to tears by the work and attitude displayed by the Houghton Youth Group. Great job guys! The food at Pastor Steve's church was a meal for the whole community. The rain was gone and yet the tears flowed from hearts that smiled. Thanks for your time. Go do something nice for somebody. #JLYASDW | |
