I was reading this morning about a peace agreement between Colombia's guerrillas and the people in 8 hilltop villages. The isolated villages have had peace since 1996 with the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia. It is possible to create peace in small areas with the hope that peace can spread to larger areas.
The article gave me an idea. Why don't we spread peace in our own neighborhood as a seed that will pollinate and spread peace over the whole city. We put 2 Bibles in zip lock bags on some old benches on a street corner in the Fruit Belt. The message inside the Bible invites anyone in need to take the Bible as we will replace it. My study of the Bible has brought me an understanding of what loving my neighbor means.
