PASTORS & POLITICIANS FIGHTING FIRES!

It was the Mayor's idea. Forest fires are raging in Northern Arizona threatening wildlife and human life. One of the best ways to fight fires is to remove the fire-fuel. Flagstaff Mayor Paul Deasy decided he had to do something. Being a smart man, he knew he needed help so he called on the good neighbor experts - the Pastor's of the city of Flagstaff.
Pastor Daniel Williamson just happens to be a Pastor who has already been presented with a Key To The City of Flagstaff. PD as he's more affectionately known, has long been noted for his exemplary leadership in spreading a contagious activism called, "Good-Neighborliness." The Mayor and the Pastor got together, devised a plan and rallied the folks with servant hearts.
A morning scheduled for prayer was turned into a day of service. Many city neighborhoods are inundated with many layers of "fire-fuel." There are neighbors among us who aren't physically able to get out and remove flammable materials around their homes. On Day One, the Good Neighbor Team removed fire-fuel from the University Heights neighborhood. On Day Two, the volunteer effort expanded to include folks from the County and other organizations.
Dumpsters and refuse trucks were filled many times over and the volunteers had more smiles that all the pine needles in Flagstaff. Thank you everybody who pitched in and spread the contagious activism of good neighborliness!
