FASTING CAN BE A MOODY PROPOSITION!
Accept your moodiness as a temporary normality. Your body reacts adversely when it is denied nourishment. Once you recognize the cause, you'll be on your way to an upswing in temperament. Be aware that small things will irritate you. Be on guard with your thoughts and especially your mouth. Think slowly and speak even more slowly.
You are now several days into your fast. Try not to be too anxious in your expectations of hearing from God. He opens the windows of heaven at the proper time. He rolls away the stone in His time not our own.
I once read about an acronym for the word HALT. I believe it came from Dr. Charles Stanley. Our moods change when we are Hungry, Angry, Lonely or Tired. Recognizing what physical state we are in can reduce conflict in our lives.
Congratulate yourself; you are climbing a mountain to get to God's mountain. Turn around and see three days journey already accomplished!
DAY FOUR WORD
“In your anger do not sin” :
Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry,
and do not give the devil a foothold.
Anyone who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with their own hands, that they may have something to share with those in need.
Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.
DAY FOUR PRAYER
A PRAYER for SICK CHILDREN
Father God, your mercies are new each day. There are moms and dads who need Your mercies today. Children are sick, some suffering terminally, and some will die today. Some children are ill from the world's poison, entangled in lives of stealing, killing and destroying life. Heal all our diseases God. May Your shadow fall on the child who is sick in any way. Extend the edge of your robe to the addict. Lay your hands on a gang leaders heart. Pour waters of living water over dry and thirsty hearts. Lift the suffering of parents and help their children of any age know the healing power of Your Love.
In Jesus name.
Amen
